Abstract
In this work, we analyze the effects of time delay on the stability of the response of a dynamic system with two degrees of freedom. We assume the existence of external excitations acting in the system. Using a multiple scales technique, we show that the system presents primary and secondary resonances. By analyzing the stability of the linearized system, we demonstrate that the time delay can act as a stability factor to control the vibration amplitude of the main system.
