Abstract
This paper analyzes the male representation on television fiction, focusing on male characters of Peruvian miniseries La reina de las carretillas. Through an analysis matrix designed for this work and a qualitative methodology on social representation, a proposal of different masculinities can be recognized, opposing the empowered women represented on this miniseries. Male characters move away from the patriarchal gender model, and perform the politically correctness of modern society with egalitarian masculinities. The contribution of this paper to the field is the analysis matrix and the male representation which is different to the one shown by classic Latin American melodrama.
