cris.boxmetadata.label.abstract
The following conclusions are drawn from an analysis of the case histories. The high intensity radiation treatment of these tumours resulted in a higher survival rate for the patients. If the tumour is exclusively localized in the nasopharyngeal cavity, this is a good prognostic factor. Another good prognostic factor is localization in the antero inferior wall. Localization in the lateral walls is a bad prognostic sign, because of the high incidence of lymph gland disease; the prognosis is probably worse than in the case of invasion due to contiguity with the base of the skull.
