Abstract
According to past research applied in countries such as England, Germany and Mexico, the lack of accessibility for users who pass through pedestrian infrastructures is a recurring problem since goods, products and/or services, in many cases, are designed without thinking about the difficulties, disabilities or characteristics that the user may have. With this, it seeks to make a proposal where the objective is to prioritize the mobility of the user, providing a higher quality of service, being the urban spaces more comfortable and safe. To achieve this, the main deficiencies in the different areas within the pedestrian infrastructure were identified together with a survey of the level of satisfaction towards users. Then, with the information on the deficient areas, we proceed to make use of the SketchUp software, where the current scenario is modeled and thus observe the changes that are required to be proposed to achieve this objective. Then, universal accessibility principles will be applied such as relocation of urban furniture and use of spaces in order to benefit and facilitate the journey of all users. Finally, with the data collection of the pedestrian count and the calculation of the new areas for the mobility of pedestrians, it was possible to find the pedestrian space and pedestrian flow of the proposal, which shows a great benefit for the users who pass through the pedestrian infrastructure [1].
