Abstract
It is describes the behavior of bacterial contamination and use of the uniform seen by the nursing student during clinical practices at the Universidad Nacional del Callao (Peru). The microbiological analysis of the health uniforms of 101 students was carried out and a questionnaire was applied on the behavior of uniform use. The results highlight that 16% of uniforms were contaminated with pathogenic bacteria, half of them showed resistance to antibiotics. Concluding that, the behavior of use of the uniform in places other than the hospital area is related to bacterial contamination (p <0.05), making evident the need to build a culture of patient safety from professional training.
