Software Engineering is one of the main disciplines that frames the path of future Software Engineers and other Engineering careers such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Engineering, among others. Software Engineering courses present new pedagogical challenges through developing students competencies such as critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity. Depending on the Engineering career the Software Engineering course tends to be whether more technical. Thus, in certain careers, the course stresses on business more than on technical aspects. Consequently, for mixing both technical and business points of view through collaborative activities, we experience a new approach to teach complementary learning goals and transversal competencies. In this paper, we describe the experience from the students' point of view of the Software Engineering course in Universidad del Pacífico Peru and Universidad ORT Uruguay. Students' from both universities carried out the same software development project, using different approaches. Based on this dynamic, students were able to compare, in general terms, two very different scenarios, although they are close regarding Software Engineering. Thus, they noticed a clear difference in the extent and depth of development of the study case. This is useful and beneficial for both parties since it allows to have other perspectives.
