Abstract
The finite-element-method and the Genetic-Algorithm have been used to solve the inverse problem involving absolute-photonic-band-gap searching and maximization. Triangular lattices composed by tellurium and air have been analyzed. We obtained absolute midratio bandgaps of 23.49%. © 2010 Optical Society of America.
