Abstract
Modern poultry production systems require efficient management of heat stress to ensure animal welfare and commercial production. The general objective of this article was to develop an automated thermal monitoring and control system for a conventional aviary using Internet of Things technology. The experiment was carried out during the months of November 2018 and January 2019, where the temperature and humidity variables of the air were monitored and controlled with the use of wireless sensors and actuators embedded in Arduino boards. The data obtained were subjected to the analysis of variance using the mixed models in SAS®, estimated by ANOVA, and adjusted to the Tukey test, the means were declared significantly different with p<0.05. The analysis allowed to conclude that the developed control system managed to maintain thermal homogeneity and temperature variation in the monitored environment.
