Abstract
A Bargraph IR-UWB transmitter with Adaptive PSD for medical applications using a 130nm CMOS Process is proposed in this paper. This circuit produces a pulse with up to eight monocycles that are inversely proportional to the power bandwidth. The complete circuit is composed of eight Edge Combiners Stage (ECS), a Bargraph circuit and a broadband antenna. This circuit operates at a central frequency of $\approx 5.2$ GHz. The post-layout simulations were performed using CMOS 130 nm libraries in LTSpice for a Pulse Repetition Frequency (PRF) of 200 MHz at 1.2V power supply voltage, and the results show monocycles with amplitude of 100mV at output. The average power consumption ranging of $419 \mu \mathrm{W}$ to one oscillation and $715 \mu \mathrm{W}$ to eight monocycles per pulse. The gain of antenna is 4dB and s11 parameter in same frequency is the -12dB. The core chip size occupies a small area of $78 \mu mathrm{mx}97 \mu \mathrm{m}($ without pads)
