Abstract
Learning programming has become a necessity for many university students in the area of software engineering, but students may have problems of lack of motivation, heavy workloads and lack of participation in classes. In this paper we describe a gamified mobile platform for the teaching of software engineering courses, our goal is to evaluate the knowledge retained by the students after using the mobile platform, a case study has been made in which freshman students were evaluated with pre-test and post-test after using the mobile platform, in addition an evaluation of the usability of the platform was carried out. One of the greatest benefits of gamification is that it allows immediate feedback when students make a mistake.
