Abstract
For high speed ground transportation systems significant attention must be given to the secondary suspension as it determines the running stability and ride quality. This paper analyzes the performance of an active secondary suspension applied to a high speed 'Maglev' vehicle running on a rough guideway. The dynamics of the suspension and the question of the optimal control policy are analyzed and referred to an adequate performance index.
