Abstract
The principle of aquaponics is based on the integration of aquaculture with hydroponics into water and nutrient recirculation systems. The objective of the research was to validate the operation of a real-time remote monitoring system of three water quality parameters, for this an acuaponic system composed of aquaculture aquaculture species (Oreochromis niloticus and Astyanax) and plantspecies (Lactuca sativa and Lemna minor) was built in the experimental greenhouse of Laboratory of Applied Physics and Computation of the Faculdade de Zootecnia e Engenheira de Alimentos of the Universidade de São Paulo, Brazil, for a period of 15 days. The results showed that it is possible to remotely monitor the parameters of environmental variables through the implementation of communication systems supported by the principle of the Internet of Things.
