Abstract
Tourism has become one of the fundamental pillars of development, so its permanence in time will be of vital importance for the progress of the communities. Under this premise, the study sought to design a geotourism route for the sustainable development of tourism in the town of Omia, Rodriguez de Mendoza, Amazonas-Peru. The methodology was based on a basic, descriptive and mixed study, with a non-experimental cross-sectional design; using the survey, interview and direct observation as data collection techniques. The results revealed that there are 7 potential points of geological interest, 4 of which have a viable tourist use and are therefore part of the geotourism route and 3 are important for conservation. The population involved is willing to participate in the development of tourism activities. In conclusion, it is established that the implementation of the geotourism route will allow the integration of diverse sectors of the population, promoting economic, social and environmental development in the search for sustainable tourism development.
