Abstract
Physiological systems generate signals of different types: electrical, mechanical, chemical, magnetic, and thermal.1 The cell physiological activity in different biological structures is associated with electrical processes, such as the ionic interchange at the cellular membrane or active mechanisms such as metabolism.2 Although most cells present bioelectric events, only a few present electrical potential changes that reveal its physiological operation.3 These signals are of great interest in biomedical applications, since they can provide information about the operation of the biological system.
