Abstract
Response surface methodology was utilized to conceive a relationship between the crosslinking efficiency of natural rubber latex crosslinked by gamma rays and the process parameters. The process becomes optimized at low radiation dose and at high concentration of n-butyl acrylate (n-BA). In addition the NR latex has been crosslinked with 250keV electron beam in a beam current from 5 to 20 mA using n-BA as sensitizer. It was observed that the crosslinking dose decreases with increasing beam current. The crosslinking rate (Rcr) depends on the beam current (I): Rvul = kl06.
