Abstract
Peru is one of the South American countries that has undergone many changes because of liberalisation and regulation of public services. The electricity service, which underwent its main modifications through private investment and vertical disintegration, ended up affecting the services rendered to users in the electricity sector. In this context, this article assesses the peculiarities of the Peruvian regulation regarding the protection regime of users of the electricity public service in contrast with the consumer regime, checking rights and duties, as well as the user grievance resolution mechanism to finally present the conclusions of the article.
