Abstract
The aim of this work was the study of the continuous enzymatic generation of Mn3+-malonate by a fungal versatile peroxidase and its use in the degradation of the industrial azo dye Orange II (Oil). The experimental set-up consisted of an enzymatic reactor, providing continuous generation of Mn 3+-malonate coupled with a second reactor to perform the degradation of the dye. The enzymatic reactor provided the Mn3+-malonate in steady state conditions and this oxidative species was able to degrade the Oil up to 60%. Copyright © 2010 AIDIC Servizi S.r.l.
