Abstract
The magnetic properties of Zr(FeCr1. )2 alloys with the hexagonal structure and 0. 3<x<0. 7 have been investigated at low temperatures. Magnetization measurements did not reveal ferromagnetic ordering at any temperature. Low-field AC susceptibility vs temperature showed a sharp peak at T=Tf; Tp had a strong concentration dependence, vanishing at x=0. 26. The Tp dependence on measuring frequency was measured in the 17-6000 Hz range. Mössbauer spectra were measured as a function of temperature and fitted with hyperfine field distributions. The average hyperfine field vanished at a temperature TM (Tu>Tp) indicating spin freezing at the Mössbauer time scale. The Tp vs frequency and TM data could be described by means of the Vogel-Fulcher equation with fitted parameters for each sample. © 1999 Trans Tech Publications,.
