Abstract
Taenia solium cysticercosis is still a major cause of seizures around the world. Despite an extensive body of published literature on this topic, knowledge of the biology, immunology, pathophysiology, and treatment of this parasite remains largely incomplete. This review summarizes recent information on the biology, clinical manifestations, immunopathology treatment and control of this important and neglected zoonotic disease, with emphasis on areas where recent developments have changed traditional and established views. © 2009 Elsevier Ltd.
