Abstract
The purpose of this research is to study the adaptability level of LEED certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) to Peruvian conditions, based on the restrictions that buildings may have to meet the requirements of their credits, which limits the score they can obtain. For this purpose, the USGBC (U. S. Green Building Council) database of all LEED certified projects in Peru is used, considering only the BD+C (Building Design and Construction) rating system as a study sample, with a total of 70 buildings. This information is then analyzed to identify those credits and categories where buildings most frequently obtain null scores and/or a low average. It is identified that, in a total of 15 credits of the certification, more than 60% of the buildings studied have obtained null scores. Then, the 10 most critical credits (representing 18.18% of the total certification score) were analyzed to identify the causes that limit their compliance through the judgment of LEED accredited experts in the country. Finally, it is identified that these limitations correspond mostly to characteristics of the country's conditions.
