Abstract
Leaders are a key piece in organizations in all sectors, and a large part of the organization’s characteristics are built from their skills. Public organizations require leaders that are increasingly flexible and capable of developing work formulas that allow the achievement of increasingly complex goals resulting from the dynamics and demands of the contemporary world. The objective of this paper is to describe how leadership is perceived in public organizations in Lima, Peru. The research corresponds to a quantitative work of descriptive type and non-experimental design, for which a questionnaire was applied. The results indicate that the general perception of leadership is positive, highlighting aspects such as the promotion of collaborative work, the recognition of particular skills and the multidisciplinary approach. Some aspects are neglected such as the autonomy of collaborators and flexible decision-making.
