The treatment of the luminosity profile of the red line 6300 Å[OI] emission discussed in a previous paper is extended to consider a linear variation of the atmospheric scale height and to study the effect of molecular diffusion on the luminous layer. It is shown that the luminosity distribution depends strongly on the scale height gradient and that the expressions of the luminosity profile and its characteristics remain essentially the same as that deduced previously. © 1964.
