Abstract
In the present study, perceived stress due to unsuited job was strongly associated with major depression in factory workers. This effect was independent of depressive symptoms. The results suggested that stress due to unsuited job is an important risk factor of major depression and is less likely to be a part of depressive states or neurotic traits before the onset of the disorder.
