Abstract
The Ag108 nucleus has been studied by in-beam spectroscopy with the heavy-ion fusion-evaporation reaction Mo100(11B,3n) at 39 MeV. Excitation functions, - t coincidences, angular distributions, and DCOQ ratios were measured. A level scheme has been constructed and various bands have been identified with characteristics similar to those in other A100 nuclei. Total Routhian surface calculations predict prolate axially symmetric shapes with collective and noncolllective character and satisfactorily account for most of the experimental results. © 1995 The American Physical Society.
