Abstract
With the development of the OnViolet application, it was sought to determine its impact on people's habits when faced with exposure to the sun's rays. For the development of the system, OpenUp was used as a framework. ISO 9126 was used in the technical guide for evaluating the software, obtaining a rating from good to excellent. The research was of an applied type and of a quasi-experimental design. We worked with a sample of 370 young university volunteers, divided into an experimentation group and a control group. The survey was used as a technique and as an instrument a 20 items questionnaire, built from the theoretical framework, validated by experts and with an acceptable reliability by Cronbach's alpha statistic equal to 0.720, in a pilot test, to be applied through of a pretest and a posttest. It was concluded in the identification of a positive influence of the use of OnViolet for the improvement of the habits of skin care of the people, obtaining in the Chi-square test of Pearson, the items with 0.0, less than 0.05 of significance: use protection against UV radiation; knowledge of the maximum time of exposure to the sun without protection; knowledge of the accepted UV radiation index for unprotected exposure; use of means for the care and protection of the skin against UV radiation; knowledge of applications that report on the levels of UV radiation and recommendations on skin care; and visit the dermatologist to receive recommendations on skin care against solar radiation.
