Abstract
The use of spectra generators for free space localized waves in an optical fiber was studied. The characteristic equation related to the interface boundary condition was properly included, assuring the predominance of the monomodal regime. Results suggest that localized waves can be useful in optical fibers provided very transparent materials are used for a broad window of wavelengths.
