Abstract
The nano-impedances associated with dielectric and plasmonic nano-cylinders are presented using the Lorenz-Mie theory for plane waves incident upon cylindrical scatterers with radii much smaller than the operating wavelength. The capacitive or inductive behavior is shown to be dependent upon both the polarization of the wave and the angle ξ between the wave vector and the principal axis of the cylinder, revealing that its reactance can be suitably tuned by adequately rotating this scatterer. © 2013 IEEE.
