Abstract
The objective of this study was to explain the influence of attitude towards life in the expectation of the future. The present correlational and cross-sectional research included a sample of 90 students from the San Vicente de la Barquera Private Educational Institution and 70 students from the National College of Application UNHEVAL, 2019. The instruments that allowed us to carry out the investigation were the Herth scale of hope and that of Future Expectations. A correlation analysis was performed using the Spearman’s Rho test. The results mostly confirm that the level of expectations was high (87.5%) and 76.3% showed a high attitude towards life. On the other hand, the results obtained through Spearman’s Rho correlation confirmed a significant relationship between the attitude towards life and future expectations (p≤0,000). Likewise, a significant relationship was found between future expectations and the dimensions of optimism / support (p≤0,000) and agency (p≤0,000). It is concluded that the attitude towards life and future expectations of secondary education students of the National College of Application UNHEVAL and the San Vicente de la Barquera Private Educational Institution have a statistically significant influence.
