Analysis of coprolites of llama (Lama glama) from the Late Preceramic site Los Gavilanes, north-central Peruvian coast, is presented. The pollen spectrum shows the presence of at least 23 taxa and the majority have been identified to family level. The results of those analyses are discussed, making comparison between the pollen spectrum and the other botanical evidence from the same site. An attempt is made to reconstruct the diet of those Camelids in which corn was certainly a very important component. -from English summary
