Abstract
The 8-bit timer is a general-purpose counter module, it includes a bidirectional counter, an interruption generation block, input pulse and external clock count modes, provides PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) and trigger pulse events. The goal of this research is to design and verify this general-purpose timer and design it to be intuitive and easy to configure for the user. Among the applications of this device are generating trigger and PWM modulation for the System on Chip (SoC), the timer must have, according to the verifications and tests, a datasheet so that it can be used and integrated correctly into a SoC together with other components. The respective tests will be done with the Cadence NCSIM simulation software.
