Histalog is a potent stimulant of gastric secretion in rats with ligated pylorus. Maximum response occurs with a dose of 50 mg/kg. When higher doses are employed, the response as regards acidity and gastric volume is less. High doses of histalog did not produce any general toxic reactions, nor any macro or microscopic lesions of the esophageo gastric mucosa in the experimental animals.
