Abstract
This paper presents a novel fuzzy controller that controls speed on induction machines using direct torque control. DTC is used to facilitate the control of the induction machine. Speed control is based in non-interactive PID control theory and Mamdani fuzzy systems. Genetic algorithm techniques are used for offline optimizations of the normalization factors (they dictate what portion of the decision table is used) and limits of membership functions. Simulations are presented, results and conclusions are discussed. © 2011 IEEE.
