Abstract
During the last years, there has been presented many predictive controllers applied to Doubly Fed Induction Generators (DFIGs) based wind turbines. Due to the importance of this approach, this paper pretends to analyze the sensitivity of prediction and control horizon to a Model-Based Predictive Control (MBPC) using a space-state prediction model with an interior point optimizer, limited by the rotor voltage module constraint. The current study includes step response analysis, noise propagation, operation under different mechanical speeds and computational cost of MBPC algorithm.
