Abstract
It has been proposed that social identity provides people for a sense of well-being. Nevertheless, researches about the relationship between these concepts are still limited. In that sense, this paper is a meta-analytical synthesis of five studies which analyzes relationships between national identification and social well-being in three Latin American countries: Argentina, Mexico and Peru. Results evidence weak but significant relationships between the national identification and the different dimensions of the social well-being. It is also appreciated that the effect sizes for the observed relationships between variables are heterogeneous; finding that in Peru and Mexico the identification with the nation appears as source of social well-being in diverse manners, which does not happen in Argentina.
