Abstract
This project is addressed to a real problem that is often evident in our country (Peru), the problem of overpopulation, especially in our capital. This problem brings consequences that end in disasters, material losses and even human losses due to natural phenomena such as landslides, overflowing rivers or ´El Niño´ phenomenon. Principally, urban areas that should not be established in those places are severely affected. In this sense, the present project, through space technology, seeks to limit and/or prevent this problem. This work focuses on the district of Chinchero in the department of Cusco since it is known from the media, in Chinchero, a new airport will be built (the Chinchero International Airport). This new project will produce a population increase due to new job positions, tourism, among other aspects since the town, will continuously receive foreign visitors. That is why it is needed an urban ordering that allows an organized population growth. Also, it is needed a sustainable development of society. This ordering and urban distribution are possible with the satellite images processing since in this way the habitable territory of the population is safely and efficiently established. This approach stimulates a planned and sustainable urban expansion.
