Abstract
The development of investigative capacities is a requirement facing the globalized world where scientific knowledge is developing faster than before, as a result of the new needs of society and people. Taking this context into account, engineering students necessarily need to progressively develop research skills from the beginning of their undergraduate studies. We were able to identify that mathematical logic is one of their essential capacities as future engineers, it is for this reason that we decided that from it we can develop a more adequate methodology that allows them to acquire investigative capacities more quickly. This methodology presents three progressive stages: a) logical modeling, b) logical textualization and c) logical assembly. The first stage has as a product the logical scheme of the essay, the second stage has as a product the logical articulation between the logical scheme and the logical textualization, and the third stage has as a product the logical articulation of the different parts of the essay. In the end, students were able to develop consistent research products that have served as a basis for the development of research products more complex as theses or research articles.
