Abstract
The opening up of the telecommunications sectors in Venezuela stimulated the entrance of companies in the market, promoting a restructuring of fixed telephone operations due to the dynamism of the environment. The central objective of this research was to determine the use of information extracted from the environment in the tele-communications sector in Venezuela. The research carried out was exploratory, and the research design was non-experimental,-trans-sectional, and applied to a population by means of interview. The results of the research show that the companies influence the environments in which they work, in order to achieve international activities for the corporations they serve. The conclusion was that the companies applied the market study as a tool for the gathering of information, which was modified and adapted to the convenience and the interests of international corporations, without taking into account the characteristics of each region. Their decisions were centralized with respect to actions to be taken.
