Abstract
A new species of Parkinsonia L. (Leguminosae: Caesalpinioideae), P. peruviana, from the dry thorn scrub forests of the inter-Andean Marañon Valley, Aanazonas, Peru, is described and illustrated. The status of Parkinsonia species in Peru is outlined and a key for their identification is provided.
