Abstract
A study was conducted on the phases in the spaces of first and second order modes. These modes were expressed in terms of Hermite-Gauss and Laguerre-Gauss functions HGnm and LGnm respectively, where the order of the mode was given by N=n+m. As such, the measurements were performed by interferometry of a beam initially in a mode ψ propagating collinearly with a beam in the mode of order zero, LG00.
