Abstract
This study deals with the nineteenth-century European trip to Athens and some western Mediterranean cities carried out by Pedro Paz Soldán and Unanue, written periodically in Lima newspapers such as El Chispazo (1891-1893) which were later compiled by Estuardo Núñez and published in 1971, under the title Memoirs of a Peruvian traveler: notes and memories of Europe and the East (1859-1863).
