Abstract
In mountainous regions, concentrations of suspended solids vary greatly over time and often change very rapidly. In the Bolivian Andes suspended particle flows are estimated from daily turbidity data using a curved gradient: suspended solids = f(turbidity). This method is illustrated by results from three stations of the PHICAB network which monitor a number of basins with different hydrological characteristics. -M.Dean
