Abstract
The objective of this work is to describe the knowledge produced on intercultural education taking into account the context of origin and models of interculturality; as well as knowing the contributions of academic research on the subject in the last ten years whose spatial scope has been Peru. The methodology consisted of documentary research and the realization of a state of the question with the support of the Google Scholar tool. The results show the presence of different currents of thought that gave rise to the study of the phenomenon of interculturality by the social sciences, the identification of opposing theoretical-practical models on intercultural education and interculturality and the delimitation of the bibliography collected according to four areas thematic. It is concluded that the Latin American current since the nineties has been making important contributions to the knowledge about interculturality that has influenced research on intercultural education and its modality, intercultural bilingual education in Peru.
