Abstract
Learning styles are important factors in human development, from which education seeks to improve skills taking into account the diversity of knowledge in people, which favors a more effective and enriching discernment. The objective of the study is to determine the relationship between learning styles, according to the Honey, Gallego and Alonso (1992) model, and academic performance in Communication students in a systems approach at the Jesus Maria Seminary Educational Institution, Amazonas-Peru, following a non-experimental, transversal, descriptive and correlational quantitative research methodology, applying instruments to 162 students in the area of communication. In the evaluation process it was found that the predominant learning style in the 3rd year students is active, in the 4th year they are reflective, and in the 5th year they are more pragmatic demonstrating a diversity of learning styles. It is concluded to foresee some tips and arguments focused on school systems, which allow them to reflect the bell of success and compare themselves with their peers, from the identification of their learning style, as well as the ability to see things from different perspectives, allowing them to participate in different learning experiences
