Abstract
The objective of this article is to analyze the flexibilizing strategies applied in the productive process by companies in the poultry sector, specifically chicken-producing companies in the State of Zulia. For this purpose, the productive process of these companies is described and furthermore, the applied strategies are identified considering economic events influenced by political changes that have affected chicken-producing companies in the last years. A bibliographical review was carried out to determine classification criteria for the strategies, based on what was established by Gamboa et al. (2001). To obtain the empirical information, a semi-structured instrument was designed, which was administered to managers and workers of the analyzed companies. The results obtained reflect that the companies use the strategies for the purpose of reconstructing and modernizing their productive processes, continually improving their products and introducing new technology. Conclusions are that these companies manage to increase productivity, increasing the amount of products in the face of optimal utilization of human and technological resources, optimization that implies a reduction of production costs to be able to expand and offer competitive prices in the market.
