Abstract
We study non-diffracting solutions of the 2-dimensional Helmholtz equation in elliptical coordinates to simulate the quantum nonlinear pendulum. Stationary and wavepacket modes are in quantitative agreement with the quantum probabilities of swinging and rotating solutions.
