Abstract
In this article we study the wave propagation in materials consisting of two components: one component is simple elastic while, the other has a nonlinear internal damping with elastic coefficients dependent on time. Both components have source terms. By using the potential well method we obtain the global existence. We also show that the energy of the system decays uniformly to zero. © 2008 Dixie W Publishing Corporation, U. S. A.
