Abstract
Eduardo Gotuzzo is currently president of the International Society of Infectious Diseases; director of the Institute of Tropical Medicine at the University of Peru Cayetano Heredia; adjunct faculty member of the Johns Hopkins University International Department, the University of Miami William Harrington Program for Latin American Studies, and the University of Alabama; member of the Advisory Board for Social Programs in Infectious Diseases and Social Change at Harvard University; and associate editor for the International Society of Travel Medicine. He lectuces extensively in Latin America and other parts of the world, presenting the Peruvian experience as a model for the treatment and prevention of infectious diseases.
