Abstract
This paper presents a new design approach for vehicular accidents management using telematics systems. The proposed system considers the use of a microprocessor to estimate the severity of the vehicular accident, the joint use of satellite services and terrestrial mobile communications systems and the use of a computer program that allows to determine the exact location of the accident and the nearest emergency services. The obtained experimental results allows to show the performance of the proposed design.
