Abstract
We have analyzed by the FORC method the thermal hysteresis properties of spin crossover compounds [FexZn1-x(btr) 2(NCS)2]H2O], detected by optical reflectivity. The corresponding FORC distributions are discussed in terms of bias and coercivity effects. The origin of these distributions is attributed to internal stresses and domain size distribution. Simulated properties of the light-induced thermal hysteresis provide a preliminary investigation of kinetic effects. © 2003 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
