Abstract
This article presents the results of the application of the methodologies; problems-based learning (PBL) and projects-based learning (PBL), for the development of formative research, for which the particularities of scientific and formative research are shown, a contextual approach is made for these types of research, then the research proposal in university environments is presented methodologically, finally two cases of application are shown; one for each type of methodology, to conclusively evaluate the results and outline the conclusions with respect to the approach.
